DESCRIPTION:To Donate: \nLOWER LAKE ST CLAIR LEUKEMIA CUP REGATTA SERIES\nLeukemia Cup Regatta Celebrates 20th Anniversary with GLYC \nThe Michigan Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is proud to announce an series of races for the 2019 Lower Lake St. Clair Leukemia Cup Regatta®\, setting sail to raise funds to support blood cancer research and patient services.  \nOur community will raise funds essential to research and supporting patients and families struggling with a blood cancer diagnosis through a series of events on Lower Lake St. Clair this May. This year’s race will be the 20th consecutive event hosted by Great Lakes Yacht Club.  Mainsail Sponsor: Real Estate One Charitable Foundation. \nLocally\, more than $1.5 million has been raised to date\, funding lifesaving cancer research.  \nFor nearly 31 years\, participants have been sailing\, powerboating\, and paddling in communities throughout the country in support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Individuals form fundraising teams that help galvanize relationships between friends\, family and business contacts. The team that raises the most in their community receives the coveted Leukemia Cup. Events take place in a number of different ways\, but all help to fund life-saving research and treatment for blood cancers. Over $66 million has been raised since the first Leukemia Cup in 1988. \nThe Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Leukemia Cup Regatta is a thrilling series of sailing events that combines the joy of boating with the important task of raising money to cure cancer. \nSince its inception\, the Leukemia Cup Regatta has raised millions of dollars for lifesaving research and patient services\, bringing help and hope to patients and their families. \nAt events held at yacht clubs across North America\, skippers register their boats and recruit friends and colleagues to help crew and to raise funds. Crew members seek donations from friends\, family\, co-workers and employers to sponsor their boat. National and local event sponsors also support the Leukemia Cup Regatta.

DESCRIPTION:The Real Estate One Charitable Foundation is proud to participate in the Summer Games bringing together more than 40 volunteers who dedicate their time\, energy and positive attitudes on the Bocce Ball courts.\n#SOMISG \nThe State Summer Games is the largest Special Olympics Michigan event with 2\,900 SOMI athletes along with an additional 3\,400 coaches\, volunteers\, chaperones\, family members and spectators attending each year.  \nCompetition \nTen types of competition are offered at the State Summer Games each year\, including athletics\, bocce\, bowling\, gymnastics\, horseshoes\, power lifting\, swimming\, weightlifting\, volleyball\, developmental athletics and motor activities training program.  \nAthletes compete in State Summer Games after qualifying at local competitions throughout the year.  \nThe State Summer Games is one of six annual statewide competitions for the athletes of Special Olympics Michigan. The Special Olympics Michigan programs are offered at no cost to the athletes or their families.
